Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Director, the IT Specialist will implement, manage, and optimize digital content for placement across the NDN Collective Intranet as well as digital signage at NDN owned properties. They will collaborate across the NDN ecosystem to ensure internal content is up-to-date and on-brand. Also involved in this role will be the configuring and maintaining of digital signage hardware and software, and the troubleshooting of technical issues to ensure the seamless operation of digital displays used for information, dissemination, organizational branding, and engagement. The IT Specialist will assist, as needed, in managing NDN Collective’s computer systems and networks, and they will provide technical support and training to employees. This role is expected to work onsite at the Rapid City HQ for a majority of their time, however there may be some flexibility to work from home several days per month.

The Position

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to manage NDN Collective’s intranet, digital signage platforms, content creation, and hardware and software integration, while still offering technical support, and assisting with quality assurance and security and compliance:  
  • Digital Signage Management: Oversees the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all digital signage systems and components, including displays, media players, content management systems (CMS), and interactive touchscreens.
  • Content Creation and Management: Collaborates across the NDN ecosystem to develop engaging and visually appealing content for intranet and digital signage displays while ensuring that content is up-to-date, relevant, and aligns with NDN Collective’s objectives.
  • Technical Support: Provides technical support to NDN Collective staff (local and remote employees), including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and conducting routine maintenance.
  • Hardware and Software Integration: Works with vendors and internal teams to integrate digital signage solutions with other IT systems, such as network infrastructure and data sources to enable dynamic and data-driven content.
  • Quality Assurance: Performs regular quality checks and testing to ensure the proper functioning of digital signage displays, including display resolution, color calibration, and content rendering.
  • Security and Compliance: Implements security measures to protect digital signage systems from unauthorized access and tampering, and ensures compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Supports and maintains user rights, security, and system groups
  • Attends mandatory training sessions and participates in continuing education and professional development.
  • Travel may occasionally be required
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Education and Experience

  • Preferred Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technology, web design, graphic design, or related field; or relevant certifications held in the field; or some education and equivalent experience within the field.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and supporting digital signage systems with proficiency in digital signage hardware and software solutions.
  • Demonstrated attentiveness to detail and is committed to delivering high-quality digital displays.
  • Must be able to adapt to emerging technologies and industry trends in digital signage.
  • Must be patient and able to assist with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Must have experience working with network infrastructure and connectivity.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Dropbox, ClickUp, and other helpful software and applications.
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) for digital signage.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with the a strong attentiveness to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team, to meet deadlines and objectives and move projects forward

This position is salaried, commensurate with experience, ranging from $60,000 to $72,000. A generous benefits package includes medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a 401(k) retirement plan, a wellness program, personal leave, and professional development.
